Project Innovation
TAGsTwo capitalizes on the results of the previous TAGs
project (Interreg V-A 2014–2020) and advances them through cutting-edge
digital tools, focusing on linking research, production, and
entrepreneurship at a cross-border level.
Short Project Description
TAGsTwo is a dynamic cross-border initiative aiming to
transform the agri-food sector in Greece and Italy by promoting
innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness. Building on the
successful legacy of the TAGs project (INTERREG V-A Greece–Italy
2014–2020), TAGsTwo accelerates the transition toward “smart”
agriculture that effectively responds to modern environmental and
economic challenges.
In regions increasingly affected by the
climate crisis, declining productivity, soil degradation, and limited
availability of natural resources, the project highlights the crucial
role of collaboration between research and businesses. TAGsTwo actively
bridges the gap between scientific institutions and agri-food SMEs,
turning cutting-edge green and digital innovations into practical
solutions that can be readily adopted in the production process.
At its core, the project develops pioneering precision agriculture models
that integrate advanced technology, scientific expertise, and business
analytics. Through advanced Decision Support Systems (DSS), field
experiments, drone technologies, data collection sensors, and modern ICT
tools, TAGsTwo creates a comprehensive framework for smarter and more
efficient crop management. At the same time, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
and soil carbon sequestration studies in olive and orange crops promote
sustainable agricultural practices.
Special emphasis is placed on communication and dissemination of results.
Through an expanded cross-border innovation network (Cross-Hub), study visits,
knowledge exchange activities, workshops, and conferences, TAGsTwo enhances
knowledge transfer, collaboration, and skills development among stakeholders.
